Chateau Rully and Vineyard, a typical scene as you follow a Burgundy wine trail in your motorhome

Plan a tour of French vineyards in your motorhome

May 1, 2019

There are three major wine regions on our doorstep and we’d like to encourage you to take a tour of each. We are in Burgundy, Champagne is just to our north and The Loire Valley a couple of hours drive to our west so you’re pretty spoilt for choice if you fancy exploring vineyards when you set off from our depot.

Each of these three wine regions has interesting wine tours to offer and you can find the details on the regional tourism websites:

Burgundy : www.burgundy-tourism.com

Champagne : www.champagne-ardenne-tourism.co.uk/

The Loire Valley : www.loirevalley-france.co.uk/

Wine tastings are typically free and you can often stay at the vineyard in your campervan overnight

We particularly love the wines and sights on The “Route des Grands Crus” wine trail, just a couple of hours drive south of our depot. It passes through some very prestigious Burgundy’s vineyards, between Dijon and Beaune then on to Santenay. Discover 38 picturesque wine villages of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, wineries, and beautiful countryside over a length of 60 km.”

Following a wine trial will always take you through an interesting route with fabulous history, architecture, rolling vineyards and great restaurants. If you’re short on time to plan your next trip, just follow a wine trial and you can’t go wrong as someone else has plotted a route to take in the highlights of the region for you. It’s not lazy to follow a published route, it’s smart!
