If you won't be there for the handover, create a set of notes for your buyer when you sell your motorhome

Everyone should do this when selling their motorhome

November 27, 2019

Model clients Heather and Karl, who live in New Zealand, recently decided to sell their Blucamp Sky 20 having enjoyed multiple European tours in it since 2014. They were just about to list their motorhome with us to sell when a friend from back home in New Zealand decided they were going to follow in their wheel tracks and bought their van.

That actually happens more than you might think. It’s no surprise really when you have been having the time of your life, touring Europe and making your friends green with envy as you beam home the images and tales of your travels. You have found a great van, blazed the trail and figured out how to do it so why wouldn’t your friends simply take over when you decide to call it a day.

As Heather and Karl will not be here when their friends arrive to collect the van in the spring, Heather set about creating the most excellent set of handover notes we have ever seen. If you are selling up and you won’t be handing over your motorhome in person, you should do this and you can download Heather’s work of art and use her notes as a template here.

If you are not camera-shy, you could even make a video version and film it all in one go if you are short of time. Quite a few of our clients have filmed our initial campervan handovers so they can refer to them later and this is a great idea – if you picked up your van in June, you might not remember how the frost protection system works by the time you need it in December!

Heather and Karl, you have been wonderful clients and we are very sad to be saying “Au Revoir”. We look forward to welcoming your friends in the spring and hope they will be as lovely as you. We also hope your master plan to explore pastures new brings you as much fun as your European campervan adventures. Thanks for your custom over the last five years and also for kindly sharing your wonderful, comprehensive handover notes.
